Storms Bring Unwanted Hazards

During serve storms, you must understand the hazards and know how to protect yourself, your family, and your property. During a storm, the weather can change from being calm and quiet to torrential rain and wind gusts that can blow a roof off. Depending on the type of storm will determine how to proceed in protecting yourself. During a severe storm, you should stay away from windows to protect yourself from falling trees or debris being blown around by the wind. During a blizzard, you should stay indoors and if you have to out into the storm you should dress for the weather. Wear tightly woven and water repellent clothing, also do not forget a hat and gloves. If you are driving, drive at a pace that is safe for you and all other motorize out on the road.
